Labour holds onto seat in Freshney by-election

Result for Labour in Freshney ward

Labour held onto its seat in Freshney ward after seeing off a challenge from the Conservative Party.

The winner of the Freshney by-election on North East Lincolnshire Council was Sheldon Mill who took  votes – a majority of 42.

It means the council composition will now sit at Labour 19, Conservative 18 Liberal Democrat 4 and Independent 1.

The turnout for the vote was 23.22 percent, a total 1,678 out of 7,225 eligible voters.

The result was as follows:

Loyd Emmerson (Greens): 24

Barry Fisher (UKIP): 78

Steve Holland ( Conservative): 650

Mick Kiff (Independent): 231

Sheldon Mill (Labour): 692
