People wanting to travel between the city centre and uphill Lincoln will now have additional evening options after Stagecoach East Midlands launched new late night bus services.
A late evening route on the Simplibus Services 7 and 8 between Lincoln Transport Hub, the Cathedral Quarter and Ermine Estates will launch from Friday, July 27.
Buses will run every 30 minutes from teatime until 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Tickets can be purchased using cash or through contactless payments on Apple or Google pay and customers can use their Megariders or Dayriders on the evening services.
There are also other late night services already operating in Lincoln, including services 6 and 9 to Boultham – Hartsholme – Birchwood – Doddingtonn Park operating every 30 minutes until 11.30pm.
Also service 15 to Newark Road – North Hykeham will operate every hour until 11.30pm.
Managing Director at Stagecoach East Midlands, Matt Cranwell, said: “Our extra Friday and Saturday evening bus services in Lincoln demonstrate our commitment to providing customers with frequent, affordable and reliable transport options.
“We are delighted to be able to trial these late journeys, which will enable local people to enjoy the nightlife that Lincoln has to offer without the stress of having to drive and park.”

A Lincoln resident is frustrated with vehicles parking on single yellow lines on Lincoln High Street, while the county council says the current regulation order means it’s unable to enforce the area properly, despite signage saying cars cannot park there.

Lincoln residents in the Boultham area have become increasingly hesitant to report crime, citing concerns that the shortage in police staffing will lead to a lack of response.
Lincolnshire County Councillor Kevin Clarke (Labour) reports being contacted by multiple residents in the last few months who have suffered break-ins at their homes or gardens. Despite these incidents, they claim to have received minimal support from Lincolnshire Police.
