Police hunt for Skegness arsonists

Fire fin field was arson, police say

A fire in a field at Skegness last week is now being treated as arson.

The incident was reported to police by Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue at around 7.20pm on June 26 after a fire at Wattons Field, off Warth Lane in Skegness.

The fire caused damaged to hay which was being dried at the location and firefighters told police they suspect it was caused deliberately by person(s) as yet unidentified.

A police spokesperson confirmed to Lincolnshire Reporter that it is being investigated as arson, but no arrests or charges have yet been made.

Youths were reportedly seen running from the area shortly before the fire service attended.

Lincolnshire Police PCSO David Bunker is appealing for anyone who may have information to assist in identifying the offender(s) to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 416 of June 26.
