Deadline day Imps move for Spanish star

Lincoln City have completed the transfer deadline day signing of Joan Luque for an undisclosed fee from Bostik League North side Heybridge Swifts.

The Spanish attacking midfielder joins the Imps, subject to international clearance, on an initial six-month deal.

The 26-year-old scored 30 goals and made 18 assists before being named in the Bostik League Team of the Year for 2017/18.

Luque featured for the Imps during their summer tour in Spain and he remained on trial with the club throughout pre-season and impressed enough to earn a deal at Sincil Bank.

Luque has been given the number 19 shirt and he will be at Sincil Bank for the club’s first home league game of the season against Swindon on Saturday (August 11).
