To drink or not to drink, the question asked by Shakesbeer, can be answered when Lincoln hosts its own Oktoberfest style beer festival next month.
The spirit of the famous German festival, which was first held in Munich in 1810, will be heading to Lincoln’s Cornhill between October 3-7 from 9am to 10pm (Sunday 10am-7pm) and entry is free.
Cure any drinking ale-ments at the event where European beer, sweet fruit beers, Polish food and other culinary delights, as well as live music will be found.

Waiters and waitresses will be dressed in traditional German outfits and there will be a festive atmosphere with live music and entertainment.
Anybody coming dressed in lederhosen or dirndl will get a small discount voucher to be used on food or drinks — Thank brew very much!

A section of Lincoln High Street has been cordoned off after reports of a man stood on the ledge of High Bridge, with rescue teams on scene to remove a boat from under the bridge.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue were called at 12.48pm on Tuesday when a passer-by saw a male on the ledge of High Bridge on Lincoln High Street.
