Former NHS clinic earmarked for luxury flats

Councillors could discuss plans this month

Luxury flats could be built on the site of a former NHS clinic and offices close to Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter.

Lincoln chartered surveyor Banks Long & Co has sold numbers 1 and 1A St Anne’s Road in excess of its guide price to Newark-based developers JAJ Developments Ltd.

City of Lincoln Council planners are being asked to give the green light to the plans to convert the main building on the site off Greetwell Road into nine luxury apartments.

It is understood that the plans will be discussed by councillors later this month.

The apartments would be sold freehold.

JAJ Developments Ltd Managing Director Andrew Derry said: “We bought the site from the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, having had the experience of buying a similar NHS property in Sleaford, which we also successfully converted into flats.

“We anticipate quite a strong demand because of its desirable location in Lincoln and proximity to Lincoln County Hospital and local amenities”.

Banks Long & Co Associate Director Lewis Cove said: “We are pleased to have successfully acted for our client Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in selling this extensive site well in excess of its original guide price, and we wish Mr Derry every success with his exciting plans to convert the property back into residential accomodation.”

The city council will consider the plans at a later date.
