Lincolnshire PCC Marc Jones to stand again in 2020

Still two years to go until elections

The local Conservative group has re-selected Marc Jones to run again for the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner role in 2020.

He was first elected in the role in 2016 and is set to stand again in two years’ time.

It is unusual for elected officials to be reselected so far in advance of an election, which according to party officials shows confidence in the work he has already done.

Marc Jones said: “There’s no doubt there are some adversities on the horizon with funding, the changing nature of crime, and transforming services to meet those hurdles but I am determined that Lincolnshire will get the excellence it deserves.”

Since it is very early in the process, no other candidates for the Lincolnshire PCC role have been announced.
