Tributes pour in for ‘funny’ Lincoln man

He will be missed by many

Tributes have poured in for Jonathan Christopher after a body police believe to be his was found in North Yorkshire.

As previously reported, the 35-year-old went missing from his Lincoln home on Monday (September 3) before a man’s body was found in Filey, North Yorkshire on the night of Tuesday, September 4.

Officers believe it to be Jonathan. They said family members have been informed and are being supported at this difficult time.

People posted tributes in response to the story on The Lincolnite and social media about Jonathan, with his great sense of humour being highlighted by a number of the commenters.

Michelle Smith said: “I am absolutely devastated, always joking whenever I saw him, cannot believe he has gone. The good ones always go too soon.”

Zena Pettitt added: “I’m so sad to be reading this, haven’t seen Jonjo since school, but he was such a joker, a really funny lad…condolences to his family”.

Jacqueline Sparrow said Jonathan “was such a character at school” and she told her children “about one of his pranks on our form tutor not that long ago, still makes me laugh now.”

Lu Lu worked with Jonathan in her teens and said he was “always laughing and joking”, while Kevin Woodhall said he has “known John for a good few years now, shocked to say the least”.

Pairof Clarke’s said: “Such sad news. John was a great lad. All my sympathy to his family and work colleagues who were absolutely devastated this morning. RIP.”
