Vehicle manufacturer expanding in Lincolnshire

Hundreds of new jobs on the cards

A commercial vehicle manufacturing company bought a 26 acre site in Belton in North Lincolnshire to expand production.

Cartwright Group Ltd, who currently manufacture trailers and commercial vehicle bodies at their 38 acre site in Altrincham, will relocate their flagship base of Cartwright Conversions to Belton in Lincolnshire.

The group employs a workforce of over 1,000 and supplies some of the UK’s biggest companies including Argos, Royal Mail and Asda.

The new site at Belton is expected to create up to 250 jobs over the next 18 months.

Councillor Rob Watham from North Lincolnshire council said: “This is a major development that will transform a disused industrial site and bring it back to life. It will create hundreds of jobs and training opportunities.

“While the plans are subject to approval, I welcome Cartwright’s expansion proposals to transform the former Belton Brickworks into their new flagship base.”

The planning authority will determine the planning application for the site later this year.
