Hallelujah! Dixon Street reopens to drivers

It will come as a welcome relief to drivers in Lincoln

Dixon Street has reopened to drivers this afternoon after three months of construction works.

The busy street has been resurfaced, new kerbing has been installed and the bridge over the River Witham has been repaired.

It will come as a relief to drivers on the High Street, where much of the traffic has been diverted while works have been ongoing.

The end of construction works will also come as a welcome relief to some businesses in the area, which have been starved of trade while the road has been closed.

Notices have also been put up on the street for residents to warn that parking restrictions will now be enforced from after Friday lunchtime.

Stagecoach East Midlands has also told customers that buses are expect to return to Dixon Street from Sunday, October 14.

The travel company made some changes to their services on route 6 and 9. It also announced that services 533, 535 and 642 will return to their usual routes on the High Street and Dixon Street.
