Lincoln nursery marks 30th birthday with charity pledge

The company is celebrating its 30th anniversay with a good cause

A Lincoln nursery is marking its 30th anniversary by pledging to support 30 good causes in its birthday year.

Children 1st Day Nurseries, which looks after children at bases on Brayford Way, Monks Road and Wragby Road, will support a range of charities, groups, local initiatives and children’s clubs as part of the celebrations.

The company will consult with staff, carers and parents at all three to decide which causes to support.

Margaret Mason, founder of Children 1st, said: “To celebrate our anniversary we wanted to involve all of our settings and their local communities.

“It’s our nursery teams, parents, carers and the local community that have helped to make Children 1st the company it is today.

“We felt it was important to use this significant milestone to help children and their families who are facing difficult times.

“We want this to be a fun, action packed year and involve as many people as possible.”

The nursery was first started in 1988 by Margaret and has now grown to have 24 sites across the Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Children 1st now cares for 2,356 children and employs over 600 people across its nurseries.
