Lorry driver flees scene of A1 horse box crash

The driver of the lorry left the scene

Lincolnshire police are currently looking for the driver of a lorry that fled the scene of a collision with a horse box that happened earlier today.

As previously reported, the crash on the A1 north bound near Colsterworth caused major delays after an animal trailer and several cars collided, causing a horse to escape onto the carriageway.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed that three vehicles were involved and that one lorry drove from the scene following the crash.

A friend of the horse’s owner was able to come and rescue the horse from the road.

In a statement, Lincolnshire Police said: “There were three vehicles involved. One lorry has driven away from the scene following the collision. Only minor injuries.

“The roads are now open and alternative transport has been provided for the horse.”

Police are now looking to speak to the lorry driver that left the scene.
