Tractor driver sought after horses near miss

The tractor driver didn’t stop

Police are searching for a tractor driver who reportedly came close to hitting horse riders, sending one of the animals into a ditch.

The collision occurred on the B1400 in North Lincolnshire.

The incident involved two horse riders who had reported that a tractor was being driven carelessly along the B1400 near Cleatham Villas around 7pm on Friday, October 19.

The caller stated that the driver of the tractor almost collided with the two riders. The driver failed to stop at the scene and one of the horses ended up in a ditch.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “We are looking for any information in connection with an alleged road traffic offence that happened on Friday 19 October in North Lincolnshire.

“Two horse riders reported that a tractor was being driven carelessly along the B1400 near to Cleatham Villas around 7pm.

“The caller said that the vehicle nearly hit both horses and riders, and then drove off and failed to stop. One horse ended up in a ditch.

“Neither the animals nor their riders were hurt.”
