Access free Lincoln WiFi from today

Here is how you can get access

A free WiFi network has been launched by the City of Lincoln Council, so we decided to test it out.

The new service was launched on Monday, November 19 and lets visitors get online while they shop and sightsee.

It doesn’t need any personal details with coverage starting in the Bailgate area and finishing in the lower High Street.

“COLin” is the name of the official mascot, and is an abbreviation that stands for “City of Lincoln internet.”

The service is intended for use mainly on either smartphones, laptops or tablets in open air areas of the city centre.

Routers have been place around Lincoln as part of an upgrade to the city’s security camera network.
