Last day for Bailgate Lloyds Bank branch

Fewer people are visiting their bank’s local branch

The Bailgate branch of Lloyds will close its doors today after a drop in customer use.

As reported previously, the branch was brought onto the chopping board with a closing date of November 12 after it was found 65% fewer customers used it than the average Lloyds Bank branch.

Overall there had been a 6% drop in the number of customer visits compared to a year ago.

Some 371 customers still used the branch on a regular monthly basis.

The company said in a review of the decision: “Following careful review, Above Hill Lincoln branch will close on November 12 2018.

“We have made the difficult decision to close this branch due to customers using it less often. In addition, the majority of customers are also using alternative ways to bank and we have another branch close by.”

The nearest Lloyds Bank branch is on Lincoln High Street.

It also means the Bailgate area will be left with just one outdoor cash point.
