Man airlifted to hospital after crash with bus

The road was expected to open around 8pm



A man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash between a car and a bus which caused a Lincoln road to be closed for several hours on Tuesday.

As previously reported, a section of Skellingthorpe Road in Lincoln was closed in both directions and caused signifcant delays after the crash, which happened near the Birchwood Avenue junction at 1.32pm on Tuesday, November 27.

The crash involved a blue Nissan Juke car and a bus. The male driver of the car taken by air ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries after being freed from his vehicle by firefighters.

There were significant delays while vehicle recovery took place, with the road due to have re-opened at 8pm, police said.
