Lincoln biker in hospital after serious crash

Officers closed off the road last night while they dealt with the collision between a bike and a car

A Lincoln motorbike rider is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision last night.

Lincolnshire Police were called to the scene at 5.46pm on January 15 with reports of a collision between a motorbike and a Ford Mondeo.

Officers closed off Newark Road and the Rookery Lane junction while they dealt with the incident until around 9pm.

An ambulance was called to the crash and the man riding the motorbike was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

His injuries are serious, but not believed to be life threatening at this time, police said.

Lincolnshire Police also tweeted that cones being used to cordon off the area had been moved to the side of the road.
