Lincoln man finds chicken in McDonald’s veggie wrap

A Lincoln man said he was “definitely not lovin’ it” when he reportedly chomped down on chicken after ordering a veggie wrap from McDonald’s.

Seb was one of many vegetarian customers around the country who claim to have been caught out by finding meat in their food.

The fast-food chain launched the spicy veggie wrap, alongside a veggie Happy Meal earlier this month to cater to growing vegetarian demand, but it seems to have backfired.

The ingredients of the new wrap are listed as red pesto, vegetarian goujon, relish, tomato, lettuce and red onion.

People have been tweeting from all around the country to voice complaints of surprise chicken, including former University of Lincoln student Seb.

He tweeted: “Not going to lie but finding chicken in my Veggie Wrap was quite surprising McDonald’s. But [I’m] definitely not loving it.”

In response, McDonald’s tweeted Seb to apologise for his experience and said that they wanted to look into the issue further.

But he isn’t alone in his reported experience, people from Kent, Glasgow, London as well as Lincoln have found meat in their veggie wraps.

Ellie Richy tweeted to warn other vegetarians: “Just ate some of my ‘veggie’ wrap that has CHICKEN IN IT. You made a vegetarian eat chicken.”

The fast food giant has issued a national apology after numerous complaints surfaced on social media:

“We absolutely recognise that it is not acceptable to serve meat when our vegetarian product has been ordered, and we would like to apologise to any customer who has experienced this.”
