Pedestrian seriously injured after village crash

The road remains closed this morning

A person was seriously injured after they were struck by a car in Heckington village overnight, police said.


LATEST: Police confirmed a 38-year-old man has sadly died following the collision. Witness appeals continue. 


Emergency services were called to the collision near to the level crossing on Hale Road just before 10pm on Monday, January 7 following the crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

The road remains closed at the time of writing on Tuesday, January 8.

Local residents said there was heavy police presence in the village through the night and diversions were put in place.

Police officers are understood to have been speaking to those who live nearby.

Investigators issued an appeal for witnesses who saw either a person on foot a silver Hyundai Comfort or a black VW Passatt during the time of the collision.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: ” Further details will be released later.

“Please call 101 and quote incident 437 if you can assist.”
