Work to recover overturned tanker as A1 remains closed

Specialist recovery work underway

There’s ongoing work to recover a chemical tanker which overturned on the A1 on Friday morning.

The road remains closed between Colsterworth and Stamford.

The chemical load of 23 tonnes of sulphuric acid did not spill on the road but special assistance with recovery is needed.

There are delays through to the A43 (Wothorpe / Easton Hill Turn-off).

Local diversions are in place. Follow police directions and signage.

Police said the road will remain closed for some time. Photo: Sgt Dan McCormack (@LincsRuralCop)
