Builders want 84 extra homes near major Holbeach development

They’re already building 900 homes next door

The developers of a major 900-home Holbeach Meadows proposal have now applied to build an extra 85-homes in a gap next to the site.

Ashwood Homes, which has reserved matters approval for 330 of its plots, wants to build the entirely seperate development in the space between the Meadows and Fen Road.

The company says it is proposing a “high quality scheme” which responds positively to the Holbeach area.

“ The end result is an attractive scheme providing a secure environment for future residents,” it says.

The build will include a mix of two, three and four-bed houses, of which 25 will be classed as affordable and six will be bungalows.

Ashwood Homes is already working on a major 900-home development known as Holbeach Meadows.

Documents outline how there will be a variety of parking solutions, with the aim to keep cars away from the street where possible.

They say there will be an emphasis on “easy access for pedestrians and cyclists”.

A mix of tree and shrub planting along with gently sloping landscaping would be used to “enhance the visual effect” of the development.

The nearby Holbeach Meadows is being built in six zones and includes a school and community facilities.

Money raised from the development has also gone towards the recent Peppermint Junction improvements.
