See what’s on the menu at Lincoln’s first fully vegan restaurant

Udder nonsense? The owners don’t think so

A Lincoln restaurant has ditched dairy to become the city’s first fully vegan eatery.

Cafe Shanti, which has been based on Clasketgate for three years, will no longer serve animal products like milk, cheese and eggs.

It might sound like udder nonsense to some, but the owners claim the switch will only bring more customers through their doors.

The vegan waffles are very inviting.

Garry Goddard, one of the restaurant’s owners, told The Lincolnite: “Lincoln has been very far behind other nearby cities for a few years.

“Even though we know that our vegetarian food will never cross paths with the vegan food, the move will give our customers that peace of mind.

“Most of the staff who work here are vegan so it felt like a natural change.”

The owners of the British and Nepalese restaurant became dairy free this week after nearly a month volunteering with their charity Lincs2Nepal.

Any profits made at the restaurant goes towards providing food and helping children in Nepal get a better education.

Their brand new vegan menu has plenty of options, including vegan curries, salads, sandwiches, burgers, soups and desserts.
