A Spar store in Lincoln will close later this month with around 16 people set to lose their jobs.
The convenience store on Clasketgate will close its doors for the last time on Saturday, April 27, The Lincolnite understands.
It sells fresh food, groceries and drinks to shoppers and nearby residents and is in close proximity to Lincoln College and the UTC, but sources say the Spar is no longer profitable enough to be kept open.
The building is said to have needed regular repairs and staff were ‘struggling to compete with a nearby Tesco Express’.
All of the 16 staff members will be let go.
