A153 Sleaford Road closed after crash involving ambulance

Avoid the area for the next few hours if possible

A crash involving an ambulance has caused a road closure and delays on the A153 near Tattershall Lakes Country Park on Wednesday morning.

Lincolnshire Police were called to the crash on Sleaford Road outside of Tattershall Lakes Country Park on Wednesday, May 29. An ambulance responding to a 999 call was involved in the crash at 10.40am.

The road has been closed since 10.45am due to the crash involving two vehicles.

Emergency services are currently on scene and police are advising people to avoid the area for the next few hours. According to AA Traffic it is affecting traffic between Tattershall and Tattershall Bridge.

Four people have been taken to hospital for treatment.

Service Delivery Manager for Lincolnshire at EMAS, Neil Scott, said: “An ambulance responding to a 999 call was involved in a road traffic collision on May 29 at 10.40am on Sleaford Road in Tattershall.

“Three paramedics in ambulance cars, two LIVES Responders, two crewed ambulances and the air ambulance were sent to the scene together with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and Lincolnshire Police.

“Four patients have been taken to hospital for treatment.

“The incident will be investigated by the police and it is therefore inappropriate to make any further comment at this time.”
