Man found unconscious in Grimsby alleyway dies

It is believed to be a 28-year-old Latvian man

A man who was found unconscious on a Grimsby street overnight died in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Humberside Police received a report of a man in a collapsed state in an alleyway at the back of Patrick Street at around 5.20pm on Tuesday, May 21.

Emergency services attended and police said that, although there were no apparent physical injuries, he was immediately taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Humberside Police said: “The man has not been formally identified yet but we believe him to be a 28-year-old from Latvia.”

“It’s thought his death was caused by an underlying medical condition. We are not treating his death as suspicious and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this.

“The Latvian Embassy has been informed and we are now in the process of trying to trace his family. A report is being prepared for the Coroner.”
