RAF volunteers are transforming the garden at a Lincoln care home to bring joy to the elderly residents.
Altham Court, a HC-One Care Home, invited the handy RAF Waddington team to help revamp the garden in time for the summer.
They will visit the care home every two weeks and have already had a big impact on the residents, who have seen the garden become much more colourful.
The team at Altham Court were keen to show their appreciation to the RAF by providing them with bacon rolls and other snacks throughout the day.
Maureen Wilkinson, a resident at Altham Court, said: “I really enjoyed helping out with the garden transformation. It was a lovely, pleasant morning and I cannot wait to get back out there to help.”
Anna Livsey, home manager, said: “The whole team at Altham Court are delighted that the RAF has volunteered their time to assist with our garden project, which will really enhance the wellbeing of our residents.
“There has been a lovely buzz around the home each time the RAF volunteers have arrived. It really has been wonderful to have the community come together for such a great act of kindness.”

Carole Glover’s transformation into a Brahma Kumaris over 25 years ago marked a pivotal turn in her life, providing clarity on her previous life experiences.
The spiritual movement was founded in the 1930s by Dada Lekhraj Kripalani, a visionary Indian businessman, also known by the name of Prajapita Brahma Baba. He then passed it over to a trust administered by a group of women who have run it ever since. After experiencing a series of visions in 1936, he was inspired to create a school where the “principles and practices of a virtuous and meditative life could be taught.”
