TedX Brayford Pool lineup announced

Meet inspirational people from around Lincolnshire and the globe

TedX Brayford Pool has announced its lineup of inspirational speakers for this year’s event.

People from around Lincolnshire, the country and the globe will take centre stage at the University of Lincoln on Saturday, September 14.

Tickets are available here for £25 plus booking fees. The event will kick off at the Engine Shed at 10am and finish at 5.30pm with time for breaks and workshops.

There are 15 speakers on the roster including doctors, nurses, activists musicians, story tellers and poets.

In the lineup is Zoe Burnett, who is currently in recovery for anorexia after living with the disorder for 14 years.

She will talk about how she crashed and burned before she was reborn with a new sense of self worth and true happiness.

Kyle Walker managed to escape a life of depressions, drugs and self-destruction to become a taekwondo and boxing champion.

He will be at the event to try and change the way people look and themselves and the world around them.

Also speaking at the event is:

  • Storyteller Tanya Akrofi
  • Innovator Leo Scott Smith
  • Musicians Happy Hunting
  • Researcher Doctor Daniel Magnone
  • Youth champion Lisa Spring

There’s a wide range of speakers at the Lincoln event, titled Re:Think. It’s about fake news, political unrest and the climate crisis – all symptoms of a society in flux.

A listing on TedX website reads: “The world is a messy, chaotic place full of isolation and ignorance. Working together we can overcome all things, but we need to answer difficult questions: Where is all this leading? What can I do? What does our future hold?

“In a world where everyone’s at odds we need to remember we’re stronger together. This year TEDxBrayfordPool offers an antidote. A place and time to come together, to build bridges and reengage in our community.”
