Beer and rock festivals, a lego exhibition and a fun dog show are among the events keeping people entertained in and around Lincoln this Bank Holiday weekend.
If anyone is stuck for things to do, The Lincolnite has compiled a list of event highlights not to be missed.

The annual Lincoln Beer Festival will return to the city with the theme of the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the moon. A number of beers produced to mark the occasion have been ordered.
When: May 23-25 (May 23 12pm-3pm, 4pm-6pm Trade Session – invitation only, and 6pm-11pm) (May 24 12pm-11pm) (May 25 12pm-9pm) Where: Lincoln Drill Hall Cost: £3 (admission to the Thursday lunchtime session is free. Also free for CAMRA members)

A new three-day rock festival is heading to the Lincolnshire Showground with The Wildhearts, Hardcore Superstar and The Virginmarys among the bands getting ready to perform.
When: May 24-26 Where: Lincolnshire Showground Cost: Prices vary depending on the day and type of ticket. Adult prices start from £33 for a Friday ticket.
The event includes astronauts, rockets, planets and even a friendly alien. There will also be a galactic VR experience inside the prison.
When: May 1-June 2 (10am to 5pm) Where: Lincoln Castle (most of the Lego is in the Victorian Prison within the castle) Cost: A Lincoln Castle day ticket or Lincoln Castle annual pass is required for entry. Adults tickets are priced at £14 with concessions £11.50 and children £7.50. Under 5s can enter for free. Click here to purchase tickets.
Medieval fun this bank holiday as Lincoln Castle’s Knight School is ready to open to train up junior visitors. Discover the skills of the medieval warrior in the have-a-go siege artillery area. There is also a Conqueror’s Castle Quest.
When: Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, June 2 (10am-5pm) Where: Lincoln Castle Cost: A Lincoln Castle day ticket or Lincoln Castle annual pass is required for entry. Adults tickets are priced at £14 with concessions £11.50 and children £7.50. Under 5s can enter for free. Separate cost for some activities.
The Medieval Siege Artillery and The Conqueror’s Castle Quest are only available on the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Collection Museum is hosting Michael Shaw, Belén Cerezo and Ros Lorimer as OPEM Artists in Residence 2019. There are also some ‘Meet the Artist’ sessions.
When: May 11 to June 23 Where: The Collection Museum, Danes Terrace Cost: The event is Pay-What-You-Decide allowing visitors to decide how much they want to donate to the museum to experience the exhibition
The ‘Show Comes to Town’ is visiting Lincoln to give shoppers a taste of what to expect at the 2019 Lincolnshire Show in June. There will be animals, tractors, interactive activities and plenty of local produce.
When: Saturday, May 25 (10am-3pm) Where: The Cornhill Cost: Free
A celebration of the music and life of singer Whitney Houston. The award-winning production features a line-up of musicians and artistes on a ride through three decades of classic hits.
When: Sunday, May 26 (7.30pm) Where: New Theatre Royal Lincoln Cost: £26 (plus £1 fee)
Cute dogs and puppies at a Fun Dog Show and Tabletop Sale with all money raised going into the Residents’ Fund at Grosvenor Hall Care Home. Food and soft drinks will be available at a small cost.
When: Monday, May 27 (10am-2pm, event starts at 11am) Where: Grosvenor Hall Care Home, Newark Road, Lincoln Cost: To attend is free. To register it is £1 per dog, per category. £10 for anyone wanting to book a table
