Boy, 12, scarred for life in Ingoldmells dog attack

The family of a 12-year-old boy say he was scarred for life in an unproked dog attack at a hotel in Ingoldmells.

Finley Simpson was at the Anchor Hotel when he walked past what was described as a husky-type dog, which bit him and left several wounds on his leg.

His mother Louise Elizabeth told Lincolnshire Reporter how her son ran up to her with “blood running down his leg.”

She said: “We told the manager there and I even approached the couple who just said that their dog ‘has never done something’ like that before.

“After that I just concentrated on getting Finley to the hospital. When we got there they cleaned up his wounds and treated him for tetanus.”

The police are investigating.

The hotel manager spoke to the couple who owned the dog and filled out an incident report, but Louise later found out that they gave false names.

Since then Louise has been trying to find the couple responsible, while her son deals with the mental and physical scars left by the dog.

“It’s just awful,” Louise added. “He’s a 12-year-old boy and he refuses to wear shorts and he’s now afraid of dogs. My son is scarred for life.”

Lincolnshire Police are looking into the incident and have urged anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident 308 of April 20.
