Inquest opens into death of young Lincoln motorcyclist

An inquest was opened this week

An inquest heard how a motorbike rider died of a severe head injury after a crash near Saxilby earlier this month.

As previously reported, Richard Alexander Arbon, 23, from Nettleham, died after a collision with a car on the A57 at Odder on Thursday, June 6.

An air ambulance rushed Richard to hospital where he died from his injuries. Many paid tribute to him, including close family and friends.

Coroner Timothy Brennand opened the inquest at Lincolnshire Coroners Court on Monday, June 17. During the inquest the cause of death was established as a head injury.

At an inquest opening they usually confirm the name of the deceased and the place of death before setting a provisional date for it to be heard.

The case has now been adjourned until December 2, 2019.
