Lincoln weather: Scorcher day, but thunderstorms this evening

Don’t forget your sun cream

Scattered thunderstorms will spread across the country this evening, the Met Office has warned, following a day of extreme heat in Lincoln.

A yellow warning is in place for much of the UK from 6pm today until 9am tomorrow morning.

Forecasters said: “There is a slight chance power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

Thunderstorm warnings are in place from 6pm.

“There is a small chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and /or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.”

According to the BBC, temperatures could reach up to 29 degrees celsius by 4pm. The BBC’s weather forecast for Lincoln predicts thunderstorms will hit at around midnight.

Pollen and UV counts are also high. People are advised to protect themselves from the sun.
