Man charged over Cleethorpes murder, a year later

Police are still hunting for another man

A 45-year-old Grimsby man has been charged in connection with the murder of Shaun Lyall.

Shaun was 47 when he was found dead at a house on Sidney Street on July 17.

Today Craig Whittle has been charged with five offences including assisting an offender.

He was also charged with affray, possession of a knife in a public place, and two counts of possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin.

Whittle is due before Grimsby Magistrates Court on Friday, July 12.

Humberside Police is still looking for another suspect in connection with the murder called Abdi Ali who is now 29-years-old.

Ali is originally from Somalia and has links to the Grimsby area, Sheffield, London, Lancashire, South Yorkshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Lincolnshire, and Cleveland.

Anyone with information about Abdi Ali is being urged to call 999 or 101 quoting log 517 of July 17 2018.

People are being advised to not approach him and call the police in the first instance.
