New charity shop opens in Lincoln city centre

It opened this morning

A new charity shop opened inside a former bakery in Lincoln city centre on Friday.

Age UK Lincoln and South opened a new shop on Guildhall Street in the unit formerly occupied by The Ticklebelly Lane Bakery and Tea House, which was put on the market in October 2018 just a year after opening.

Age UK Lincoln and South Lincolnshire, which operates as an independent local charity, opened the new shop’s doors for the first time at 9am on Friday, July 26.

It will be open from 9am-4pm Monday to Saturday.

There will be lots on offer inside the shop including quality clothing for all ages, DVDs, records, accessories and toys.

Four paid jobs were created across two sites – the new Lincoln shop and the store in Boston which opened on May 24.

The charity previously said it hoped to have 19 volunteers at each shop. In the new Lincoln shop they currently have a number of volunteers so far, but are still recruiting for new willing hands.

Anyone wishing to volunteer can either pop in to the shop on Guildhall Street or by asking for one of the volunteering application forms at the Park Street premises.
