Two men arrested after seven-hour crime spree across Lincolnshire

Two men have been arrested after a seven-hour crime spree and were accused of trying to kiss young teenage girls and attempting to steal a 12-year-old boy’s phone.

All six offences that the men are accused of were committed in the Sleaford, Stamford and Bourne areas between 3.48pm and 10.46pm on July 15.

They were traced and arrested on the following evening by investigating officers from Northamptonshire Police.

Both men stand accused of trying to steal a 12-year-old boy’s phone on Churchill Avenue in Bourne.

As well as attempted thefts in Stamford at a salon on St Paul’s Street, a financial adviser on Ironmonger Street and a dental practice on Carre Street in Sleaford.

They were also arrested on suspicion of an attempted burglary at the Welland School of Dancing on Broad Street and theft of a phone on St Paul’s Street, Stamford.

Later that night Lincolnshire Police received reports that two men attempted to get young teenage girls to kiss them at McDonald’s at the Holdingham roundabout.

Suspicious activity was also reported at the Toft House Hotel on Loung Road Bourne and the George Hotel in Stamford.

Officers are continuing to investigate all of the offences and have encouraged anyone with information about any of the above to call 101, quoting incident 421 of July 15.
