Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Lincoln

It may also affect other areas of the county

Heavy rain could be back on its way to Lincoln after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms.

The warning will be in place from 12pm to 9pm on Thursday, July 11, so heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some travel disruption and flooding in places during the afternoon and evening. However, temperatures could still reach over 20 degrees celsius.

The Met Office said there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater and lighting strikes. Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

Difficult driving conditions and some road closures could be caused by spray and sudden flooding. There is also a slight chance of power cuts and other services could be lost.

The Met Office also said there is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.
