CCTV appeal after man “pointed handgun at motorist”

A handgun was allegedly pointed at a motorist in Spalding and police have issued a CCTV appeal as part of their investigation.

Police are investigating a report that one of two men pointed a handgun at a motorist as they drove their vehicle along Hereward Road in Spalding between 7.40-7.45pm on Tuesday, August 20.

Nobody was injured, police said.

Police officers and a police helicopter searched the local area for the two men who are believed to be involved.

The men were also seen on Winsover Road walking towards Spalding town centre.

A 23-year-old man was arrested before being released under investigation.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information on the identity of the second man. The force believes he can help with their enquires.

He is described as white, in his 30s, with tattoos on his arm. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, trainers and a black baseball cap.

Police are continuing their enquiries and are appealing for any information regarding the identity of the man or the man himself to contact them directly.
