Lincoln village GP surgery closed for a week due to staff shortage

Patients sent to a neighbouring town

A Lincoln village GP surgery is redirecting patients to a neighbouring town after it was forced to close for a week.

Bardney Surgery put up an emergency notice explaining that it was due to a “combination of unforeseen serious illness and staff leave.”

The low staff numbers, administrative and dispensers, meant that it was “impossible” for the surgery to provide a full consultation service.

It has forced the GP service to redirect most of its appointments to Woodhall Spa New Surgery from Monday, August 12 until Friday, August 16.

A spokesperson from Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances it is temporarily not possible for a full consultation service to be provided at the Bardney branch practice.

“If any patients have an appointment with a GP they will be offered an alternative appointment at the main site which is at the Woodhall Spa New Surgery.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary reduction in service but a full range of services is available from the Woodhall Spa New Surgery.”
