The charged man was arrested on Monday afternoon after earlier in the morning the bodies of a man and woman were found at the bungalow on Lincoln Road in the village.

Lincolnshire Police have not released the names of the two victims.

However, according to the Daily Mail, neighbours said Dr Leela Monti, 51, a former NHS trust staff governor, had not been seen for several days. One neighbour reported hearing a gunshot on Monday morning, hours before the bodies were discovered.

The Times also reported that Dr Monti was a mother of three from Romania, who ran a care and medical business from the property she was renting.

Post mortem examinations were carried out on Tuesday, when a formal identification process was also underway.

On Wednesday morning forensic investigators were still at the scene and the house remained cordoned off.

Lincolnshire Police described the case as “an isolated incident”.
