Road closed after serious A18 crash

Avoid the area if possible

Police said the road will be closed for some time after a serious crash on the A18 near Grimsby on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services are in attendance at the scene on the A18 near to Limber Road in Ulceby. The crash involved a Vauxhall Zafira and a Mercedes and three people sustained minor injuries, Humberside Police said.

The road is currently closed in both directions.

The road will be closed for some time, police initially said. The force told reporters at around 2.20pm that it is unclear how much longer the road will be closed for.

Police are advising people to avoid the area if possible as there may be delays.

It is also affecting public transport in the area.

A spokesperson for EMAS said: “We received a call at 12.36pm on August 23 to the A18 in Kirmington. The caller reported there had been a road traffic collision. We sent a LIVES community first responder and an ambulance. The ambulance is currently still at the scene.”
