Application to build McDonald’s restaurant in Louth submitted

A coffee shop is also planned – though the operator of this is unknown

A new McDonald’s restaurant could be coming to Louth after plans for a drive-thru restaurant and coffee shop were submitted.

EG Group confirmed in documents to East Lindsey District Council that one of the proposed businesses, which will be built on land to the rear of the Shell Petrol Filling Station, on Bolingbroke Road/Lincoln Road will be run by the fast-food chain.

The operator of the coffee shop is at this point unknown – however, EG Group has been known to partner with Starbucks previously

The developers have said the plans will create investment in the town, bring the land into beneficial use, widen the food choice and redevelop a “long-term”vacant site.

“In addition to meeting the needs of motorists this proposal will also meet the needs of the visitors and employees on the Fairfield Industrial Estate,” said the developers.

The site plan for the new development, including a McDonalds.

They said it will create around 85 full and part-time jobs – with potentially 65 of those at the fast-food franchise.

The application says that “ideally” McDonald’s restaurants would open 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week.

The plans will also include 73 car parking spaces.
