Man arrested over Boston firearm scare

People were told to stay in their homes

Police arrested a man suspected of using a firearm at a property near Boston overnight.

Officers were called to Haven Bank in New York just before 6pm on Monday, September 9.

Nearby residents were told to stay in their properties while they dealt with the incident.

It was resolved just after 8pm.

Police assured people in the area that there was no ongoing threat to public safety and that a local man had been arrested.

A spokesperson for the force added: “No members of the public or officers have been injured and local residents are free to resume as normal.

“We would like to thank the public for their cooperation.”

Armed police also arrested a man in North Hykeham overnight.
