Man charged with weekend spate of burglaries

He is accused of targeting businesses in the Sleaford and Grantham areas

A 39-year-old man has been charged after a spate of burglaries at businesses across Sleaford and Grantham.

Alan Davidson, of Barrowby Road in Grantham, was summoned to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on September 3 in connection with the crime spree.

He was charged with a robbery at Worrell Newsagents in Southgate on September 1, and a burglary on Thomas Street in Sleaford on the same day.

The next day he is accused of another burglary at Costa Coffee in the Southgate Shopping Centre in Sleaford, an attempted burglary at Rose Cottage Dental Practice, as well as a theft and fraud on Barrowby Road in Grantham.

Davidson was remanded into custody following his appearance at magistrates’ court and is due to appear at Lincoln Crown Court for trial on October 7.
