Get pumped at new Lincoln city centre gym

It opens this Friday

A new boutique gym will open seven days a week in the Cornhill from Friday, and The Lincolnite ran down to pump some iron.

Plans by the Lincolnshire Co-op were given the go ahead by the City of Lincoln Council towards the end of 2018 to change the use of the first floor of the building at 31 Sincil Street to create a gym – ènergie Fitness Lincoln City. The entrance to the 7,304 square foot unit is between Lakeland and Seasalt.

The gym will hold a launch party between 5pm and 8pm on Thursday, October 10. There will be goodie bags for the first 100 attendees, as well as a VIP tour and a winner announced for a one-year free membership.

The gym will then officially open from 6am on Friday, October 11. It will be open 6am-10pm on weekdays and 8am-8pm on weekends.

Owner Lee Kilby, and his wife Tamsin, can’t wait to get started. Lee told The Lincolnite: “The gym is looking fantastic and will be a genuinely different offering in the city.

“We can’t wait to get open now and are inviting everyone to pop down to our opening party on Thursday evening for a look around and some freebies! It’s been worth the wait!”

The gym will house state-of-the-art fitness equipment, innovative training zones including for boxing, extensive free weights and over 30 classes a week. It also includes The Yard, which is an exclusive workout playground.

Five new jobs have been created for the new gym, as well as work for several freelance instructors in the area.
