Missing man found…and arrested for theft

He has appeared in court

A 26-year-old man from Lincoln has been arrested and seen in court a week after being reported missing.

As previously reported, police were appealing for information to help find Ashley Surfleet, who at the time had not been heard from since Tuesday, October 1.

Police were growing increasingly concerned about his welfare before he was located and arrested over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “He was arrested on October 5 and charged and remanded for theft from a shop and GBH. He was due in Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, October 7).

“He also had a speeding offence and an offence of failing to provide information which has been dealt with. He was fined £660, costs of £150, six points on his licence and a victims surcharge of £66.”
