More flood warnings and alerts issued across Lincolnshire

More than 30 flood warnings and alerts are still in place after Lincolnshire was hit by heavy rainfall.

Lincoln was among the worst hit as rivers swelled and spilled into a number of streets, causing many to fear for their properties and at least one driver in Potterhanworth to be submerged in floodwater.

According to BBC Weather, the latest forecast for the next few days looks sunny and cloudy, with six days of light rain expected from Friday, November 1 onwards.

Thirty two flood warnings and alerts affecting Lincolnshire are currently in place on Tuesday, October 29 according to the government’s flood information service.

Flood warnings

12 flood warnings affecting Lincolnshire are in place at the time of writing. This means flooding is expected and immediate action is required in the following locations:

  • Car Dyke, Billinghay Skirth and tributaries in the Billinghay area
  • Low Barlings and the Short Ferry Area
  • River Glen at Surfleet Reservoir during high tide periods
  • River Trent at Alkborough Flats
  • River Trent at Beckingham Marsh
  • River Trent at Carlton on Trent including Beck Cottage
  • River Trent at Collingham
  • River Trent at Girton
  • River Trent at Newark Tolney Lane and Riverside Marinas
  • River Witham and associated Fens from Chapel Hill to Boston
  • River Witham and associated Fens from Washingborough to Metheringham
  • River Witham and associated Fens from Woodhall Spa to Chapel Hill

In addition, 20 flood alerts are in place, meaning flooding is possible and to be prepared in the following locations:

  • Barlings Eau and Duckpool Catchwater
  • Burstwick and Keyingham Drains
  • East and West Fens
  • Fossdyke Canal and River Till
  • Lincoln Watercourses
  • Lower Glen and Bourne Eau System
  • Lower River Ancholme
  • Lower River Derwent
  • Lower River Witham
  • Lower Welland
  • Minor Watercourses in North Kesteven
  • North Sea coast at Withernsea, Easington and Kilnsea
  • Rase and Upper Ancholme
  • River Foulness and Market Weighton catchment

  • River Wreake in Leicestershire
  • South East Holderness
  • South Forty Foot Drain
