Hit and run leaves Lincoln woman, 23, fighting for life

Police have arrested a man and recovered a van

Police have arrested a man after a hit and run left a 23-year-old Lincoln woman fighting for her life in hospital.

Casey Dent was on Bilsby Close, in the Ermine East area, at around 8.30pm on November 8 when she was struck by a light-coloured van.

Paramedics rushed her to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where she had emergency surgery to save her life.

Family friends revealed on a fundraising page how doctors have removed her spleen and repaired her bowel.

She also has broken ribs, a severely damaged kidney, multiple spinal fractures and fractures on her pelvis.

Her family have been told that Casey is in a critical condition and that they need to take each day as it comes.

Lincolnshire Police are currently examining a van and have released a man in his 20s under investigation in relation to this incident.

Any witnesses who have not already spoken to police have been urged to call 101, quoting incident 470 of November 8.
