Tipi tents taking shape ready for Thor-some Viking bar’s Lincoln return

There is a brand new drinks menu for 2019

Get ready for some warm and cosy festive cheer when Lincoln’s Viking Tipi Bar returns to the Cornhill for over a month next week.

Construction of the two linked canvas tipis, which will form the bar, has been ongoing over the last few days. The outdoor area will also be given a new look with more seating.

The fire will be roaring inside as the first customers are welcomed in from 6pm on November 8 until December 31. Entry is free.

The bar is decorated with twinkling lights, wooden tables and benches, cosy furs and an open fire pit.

A brand new drinks menu will offer something for everyone, including hot and cold cocktails with a Christmas twist, beers from around the world and local ales and stouts.

There is also an extensive wine list, soft drinks and a non-alcoholic selection, as well as festive favourites such as mulled wine and hot chocolate.

The opening times will be from 12pm-10pm Sunday to Thursday and 12pm-11pm Fridays and Saturdays.

Street food vendor The Cheese Cave will also be returning after a successful debut with its vintage trailer in the tipi bar in 2018. The Cheese Cave offers grilled sandwiches described as ‘gooey cheesy treats’.

Thor’s Tipi Bar was visited by over 50,000 people in 2018.
