Conservatives hold Boston and Skegness

The results are in

The Boston and Skegness MP seat has been held by the Conservatives.

Matt Warman retook his seat with 31,963 votes – a majority of 25,621.

Turnout was 60.2% for this year’s election in the parliamentary constituency.

Here’s how the vote panned out for each candidate:

  • Ben Cook, Labour: 6,342
  • Hilary Jones, Liberal Democrat: 1,963
  • Matt Warman, Conservative: 31,963
  • Peter Watson, Independent: 1,428

The number of registered voters for this year’s election for Boston was up by 1,148 people compared to 2017, with 41,272 people signed up.

In East Lindsey the number was up by 643 people compared to 2017, with 79,650 people signed up.

In 2017, Conservative Matt Warman took the majority with 27,271 ballot papers – 19.8% higher than the party’s victory in 2015.

The party has/had held seats in the area since 1966.
