Lincoln man dies in head-on crash with AA truck

He was driving a grey Audi towards Scarborough

A Lincoln man in his 60s has died in a head-on collision near Scarborough.

North Yorkshire Police appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage after the fatal collision on the A64 at around 11.40am on Monday, December 16.

The Lincoln man was driving a grey Audi towards Scarborough when he collided with an AA recovery truck heading in the opposite direction.

The man in his 60s driving the Audi was confirmed dead at the scene, but the driver of the breakdown truck was uninjured.

Police closed the road between Staxton and Seamer to allow emergency services to attend and it reopened later that day at around 5.30pm.

Anyone who saw either of the vehicles before the collision, or who witnessed the actual collision, has been asked to contact the police on 101.
