Man denies stabbing wheelchair user in Lincoln city centre

Fletcher has been remanded into custody

A man accused of stabbing a wheelchair user in Lincoln city centre denied a wounding charge.

Kerry Fletcher, 54, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty at Lincoln Crown Court to wounding Clinton Smith on October 11 with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

Fletcher also denied possession of an article with a blade in St Benedict’s Square and damaging a police van on the same day.

Recorder Charles Falk remanded Fletcher in custody and adjourned the hearing for a trial due to commence on April 1 2020.
